Bat Conservation International BCI's mission is to teach people the value of bats, to protect and conserve critical bat habitats and to advance scientific knowledge through research. Bat World Sanctuary was founded in 1994 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Their mission includes rescue, rehabilitation, release and sanctuary. Each year they rescue thousands of bats that might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, confiscated from the illegal pet trade and retired from zoos and research facilities.
